This course is a unique collaboration between our Nursing Simulation Laboratory and our Adult Learning in the Fitchburg Area (ALFA) where our nursing staff prepares lifelong learners to serve as Standardized Patients (SPs) for undergraduate nursing simulations. Participants will learn how to accurately and consistently portray specific patient scenarios, provide valuable, constructive feedback to students from the ‘patient’s perspective’, and contribute to the safety and realism of the clinical learning environment. No prior acting experience is required; the curriculum is specifically designed to help non-actors use their own life experiences to create authentic patient portrayals for our students. This first session served as an introduction to the training, and a tour of the Nursing Simulation Laboratory.
