Our Office of Student Development Student Orientation Leaders came back to campus yesterday for a week long preparation for Move In & orientation sessions for our newest Falcons coming to campus next week. After moving in, and reconnecting over lunch, the Orientation Leaders began a week of training with review of the schedule, introductions, and a name memory ice breaker.

This afternoon, to mark the last day of classes, the Office of Student Development set up a grill and gave away hot dogs. Not to be outdone, Counseling Services offered ice cream sundaes, and the Office of Alumni and Development offered Add -Your-own -Flavors Lemonade.

This afternoon, Chartwells Dining Fitchburg State University's Executive Chef Mark Clark hosted a Teaching Kitchen session in the Dining Commons. Students "sauced it up" making Buffalo Chicken and/or Buffalo White Bean Dip.

The Fitchburg State University  Counseling Services team and other offices on campus throughout Hammond Hall held a Wellness Fair to celebrate the opening of their new wellness space on the second floor. Students got to visit therapy animals, do some wellness activities, get wellness related supplies, grab a snack, and more.

Yesterday afternoon, students got a little break from classes, tests and projects by spending a little time with Daisy, Moka, and Penny in the Hammond Maine Lounge. These therapy dogs were a welcome respite from early semester stresses.

Yesterday afternoon, Student Development held its annual Rock the Hall in Hammond Hall. Rock the Hall gives students the opportunity to connect with student Clubs and  Organizations here on campus.

A new calendar year marks a new semester, and students are on campus ready to learn, explore, and experience as the spring semester starts today.

The Fitchburg Activities Board (FAB) sponsored last day of class activities in the G-Lobby of Hammond Hall. Students were treated to a nacho/tater tot bar and various stress relieving activities - with slime making being the most popular. One student was heard to say, "I am totally playing with this slime during my final."
