Engineering Technology Department Industry Advisory Board (IAB) Meeting

On Friday, Dean of the School of Business and Technology Dr.  Mahmoud Al-Odeh and Engineering Technology Department faculty welcomed local business partners to the  Fitchburg State University Engineering Technology Department's Industry Advisory Board (IAB) meeting. The meeting serves as an opportunity to get local industry leaders and educators together to discuss the university's role in employers human resources needs.

Yesterday, Director of Admissions Tony Trodella welcomed gests to our School Counselor/Partners Program Breakfast in the Hammond Main Lounge. After remarks from President Donna Hodge and Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Success Pamela McCafferty, Student Engagement Dean of Students Timothy St. John. moderated the first of two Student Experience Panels with representatives from our Student Support Services. Chartwells Dining - Teaching Kitchen; Falcon Bazaar Food Pantry

Yesterday afternoon, Chartwells Dining hosted a Teaching Kitchen session in G-Lobby. Students got to sample, and get recipes, directions, and dorm friendly appliances to make nutritious meals with ingredients available at the Fitchburg State University Falcon Bazaar Food Pantry. The minestrone soup was a big hit!

Earlier today, the Career Services and Advising Center and the Engineering Technology Department held a Lunch & Learn Engineering Technology Employer Roundtable event. Representatives from Columbia, Jabil, Nypromold, and [re}archetect  were on hand to network with students in Conlon Hall. Networking events serve as an excellent opportunity for our students to connect with potential employers, learn about different career paths, and gain valuable insights into the current job market.

Career Services and Advising Center - Graduate Education Exploration Fair

Yesterday afternoon, the Career Services and Advising Center held an  Exploration Fair in the Hammond Main Lounge.  Fitchburg State University's School of Graduate, Online and Continuing Education (SGOCE) along with local university's graduate school programs, provided this as opportunity for schools to meet the talented students at Fitchburg State University, and connect with potential graduate students. This was an opportunity for our students to learn about graduate school programs, and receive information about the application process.

Hispanic Heritage Month: World Languages Bridging Communities

As part of our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, Humanities Professor Dr. Karina Bautista highlighted a community-based effort led by Fitchburg State’s Spanish Program in partnership with the Falcon Academy, through the Perseverantia Perspectives Podcast Series. Students reflect on how their Spanish skills came alive as they taught a medical Spanish lesson to local eighth graders, bridging classroom learning with real-world community needs. Their stories show how language education fosters connection, cultural awareness, and collaboration.
