Boston Bruins Fan Fest at Wallace Civic Center

The Boston Bruins Fan Fest Tour stopped at our Wallace Civic Center today with Bruins -centric fun for all ages. Activities included guest appearance by current and former Bruins players, Bruins mascot Blades and our own Freddy Falcon, interactive hockey games and exhibits, personalized equipment fittings for Learn to Play participants, and much more.

Freddy Falcon, President Hodge & the "Donut Party Crew" Celebrate the First Day of Class!

President Donna Hodge and her Cabinet, AKA "The Donut Party Crew", loaded up the Donut Mobile and traveled around campus to hand out doughnuts and connect with students, faculty and staff on this, the first day of class for the fall semester.

The Great Move-In 2025

It was all hands on deck this morning for the Fitchburg State University Great Move In 2025. Our athletic teams, staff, Clubs, University Police, students, and more were spread out between Check-In at the Wallace Civic Center, and the dormitories on the main campus, all in the effort of making our newest Falcons move in process as smooth as possible. The Great Move In will be  capped off with the Falcon Nest BBQ this afternoon.

Fitchburg State University in the Community - Fitchburg Arts Community Ribbon Cutting

Fitchburg State University was honored to be part of the groundbreaking ceremony for the NewVue Communities' Fitchburg Arts Community Ribbon Cutting, a transformative downtown project that has converted long-vacant buildings into new artist live/work space. This project is the culmination of endeavors by local, state, and federal elected officials in addition to grass roots community effort.

Orientation Leaders Back on Campus

Our Office of Student Development Student Orientation Leaders came back to campus yesterday for a week long preparation for Move In & orientation sessions for our newest Falcons coming to campus next week. After moving in, and reconnecting over lunch, the Orientation Leaders began a week of training with review of the schedule, introductions, and a name memory ice breaker.

Communications Media Major Interview for  North Central News - Fitchburg Access Television (FATV)

Fitchburg State University Communications Media major Joshua Cronin, who is producing North Central News on Fitchburg Access Television's (FATV), spent this afternoon with Fitchburg Public Library Director Deb Hinkle and  Co-Chair of the OWL Campaign Rob Favini for a segment on the progress of the library renovation. Josh and fellow senior Communications Media Zoe Chrisostomides recently won a National Hometown Media Award for Community Events, presented by the Foundation of the Alliance for Community Media for the 2024 Halloween edition of North Central News, read more about the award here

Transfer Orientation 2025 -  See You Soon!
