Jordan Geyster, ‘22 is currently working as a physical therapy aide and will be starting in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of New England in the fall.
Geyster is from Phillipston, Massachusetts and chose to attend Fitchburg State because it was close to home and allowed her to pursue a degree in exercise science at an affordable cost along with making relationships with her peers and professors thanks to the small class sizes.
"Growing up in a small town and attending a small high school, I knew that going to Fitchburg State would give me the same sense of community. Within the Exercise and Sports Science program, this philosophy was adopted with small class sizes truly allowing me to create long lasting relationships with the professors and my peers through hands-on labs. Being able to spend two semesters working on an independent research project with the help of my advisor, Dr. Keenan, and co-director of the Honors Program, Dr. Maldari, made my experience at Fitchburg State one to remember, and allowed for immense personal and professional growth. The skills and experiences that I have gained in the Exercise and Sports Science program have allowed me to successfully be accepted into top graduate physical therapy programs, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds. Thank you for everything, Fitchburg State University,” said Geyster.
In five years she sees herself graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and working full time at a physical therapy clinic.
“My advice for first year students would be to take the chance and put yourself out there. Take all opportunities that come your way, and seek out new experiences to allow yourself as much exposure into your future field as possible,” she added.
