This groundbreaking was the culmination of endeavors by local, state, and federal elected officials in addition to grass roots community effort.  After remarks by NewVue Communities Executive Director Mark Dohan, some officials including  Fitchburg Mayor Stephen DiNatale, Senator John Cronin, Representative Michael Kushmerek, CEO of MassDevelopment Dan Rivera, Secretary of the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities Ed Augustus, Executive Office of the Fitchburg Art Museum, and NewVue Communities Board President Tom Gray were just some of those who spoke of the importance of the day and the project.
