Students in Theater Professor Kelly Morgan's Stage Movement: Combat course work in small groups to rehearse the combat scenes they've conceived as part of the coursework. The class teaches students how to utilize the sword as an extension of the character and a a vehicle by which the actor propels the story.

Theater Professor Kelly Morgan teaches students how to utilize the sword as an extension of the character and a a vehicle by which the actor propels the story in his Stage Movement: Combat in Weston Auditorium. This workshop-oriented course utilizes the basic techniques of movement with emphasis on developing each student's potential for effective physicalization of a character on stage.

Students in Theater Professor Mary Vreeland's Acting 1 course got to try out their first attempt at improvisation. The scene involved a bus stop and a disputed seat. This course is an introduction to professional stage performance techniques. Students will learn how to build a character using techniques such as playing actions, status, physical transformation, improvisation, relaxation and script analysis.

Award-winning filmmaker, Communications Media/Film/Video Concentration student, Tonia Magras continued filming "Do You Remember Me?" at our Nursing Program's Simulation Lab - which for today, served as a hospital for the filming. Toni is enlisting the services of other Communications Media/Film/Video Concentration students, along with Assistant Professor, Film and Video, Rachelle A. Dermer, to bring her project to fruition.

On Thursday, April 25 @ 7pm, the Communications Media Department will begin the run of its Spring Theatrical production of Absurdist Alert! - Two one-act plays that point out the bizarre, delightful and surreal nature of life at the Wallace Theater for the Performing Arts in the McKay Complex at 67 Rindge Road. Admission is FREE and open to the public. Here, understudies took the stage presenting, “A Game,” written by Dennis E. Students in Theater Professor Ellen (Cap) Corduan's Theatrical Stage Make Up course experiment with various make-up techniques, this lesson was classic whiteface clown. This lecture/laboratory course investigates the principles, techniques and materials of character stage makeup and practical application. Students will apply, in a production setting, principles, techniques and materials of character stage makeup. They will identify historical justification for period makeup and apply techniques for live animation, clowning and dramatic character.

Students in Theater Professor Mary Vreeland's Acting for the Camera course, An intensive scene study course for the advanced student actor, spent their class time recording short commercial scripts for the camera. The scene was reviewed and Professor Vreeland and the rest of the class gave immediate feedback.
