Fitchburg State University Hosts 13th Annual Mental Health & Law Enforcement Conference

Today, Fitchburg State University is hosting the 12th Annual  Mental Health & Law Enforcement Conference. This day-long event is designed for Police, First Responders, Emergency Service providers, Department of Mental Health, NAMI, Justice System partners, and other interested parties to come together and focus on mental health issues in their respective professions.

The day began with welcoming remarks by Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health (DMH) Brooke Doyle, M.Ed., LMHC, Upton Police Chief and President of the MA Chiefs of Police Association Eric Gillis. Prior to his presentation, John C. Barber, LICSW, WM, he presented an award to Mark Leahy, Chief of Police (Ret.), Executive Director, MA Chiefs of Police Assoc. (Ret.).
