This past semester the Engineering Technology department held a "Visionaries in Engineering and Technology: Speaker Series. One speaker from this semester was, Mr. John Carroll, founder and CEO of Moss Hollow Solar, LLC. He spoke to our students and faculty on the topic of "Building a Sustainable Career in the Renewable Energy Industry: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know but Were Afraid to Ask!"
The topics that were covered included:
1. A historical perspective of the renewable energy industry and why it's a hot industry now.2. An overview of working in the industry complete with plenty of photographs over the years which will highlight our diverse portfolio of work.3. A discussion of some of the obstacles which we have encountered over the years.4. What it is like to start a small business in an industry that didn't exist.5. A discussion of opportunities for those interested in pursuing a career path in the renewable energy industry.
