Students enrolled in the Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC) had their monthly meeting yesterday afternoon in the Hammond Falcon Hub. Here, at the years end, the current class, platoon, and squad leaders - who will be attending the Police Academy after commencement - name the new leaders for the upcoming senior year.

Resident Assistants Ronan, Matt & Spencer hosted a Bear Down for Finals Finals Frenzy at the Russell Towers Glass Lounge. Students got a grab bag with some snacks, motivational pieces, and more.
Yesterday, English Studies Professor Kisha Tracy held a reception for her Writing II class students, mentors from the university community, as well as mentors from our Adult Learning in the Fitchburg Area (ALFA) Program, as part of this semester's Heritages of Change exhibition. Students and their mentors discussed their various contribution to the project which is a practice of curatorial activism, bringing attention to the heritages of marginalized and emerging topics.

This afternoon, on the last day of classes, the Office of Student Development set up a grill and gave away hot dogs to mark the day. Not to be outdone, Counseling Services offered ice cream sundaes, and the Office of Alumni and Development offered Add -Your-own -Flavors Lemonade.
In a gesture of camaraderie and fellowship, the university was honored to host the Graduation Exercises for the 33rd Recruit Officer Course of the Boylston Police Academy in Weston Auditorium.

Coordinator of Early College and Dual Enrollment Andrew Goodwin hosted students from the Sizer School yesterday on campus. These students, who are interested in our Dual Enrollment Program, learned about Fitchburg State University from our Admissions Councilors. After a tour of campus, Fitchburg State University Police Program Interim Police Academy Director Alexandra Wysocki, Criminal Justice Professor Michael S. McCutcheon, and three of our Police Program students held a panel discussion.

Yesterday afternoon, we continued with our celebration of the presidency of Dr. Richard Lapidus at the Presidential Palooza on the Main Quad. The campus gathered to celebrate the eleventh president of the university, dinner, games, giveaways, activities, and more!

The English Studies Department held their annual High School Writing Awards and Creative Writing Awards Ceremony yesterday afternoon in Presidents Hall. First place and honorable mention writing award winners from area high schools were recognized. Some of the first place high school winners' writing along with Fitchburg State student writing appear in the latest volume of Route Two literary publication which was available for free at the event.

It was standing room only in the Randall Lecture Hall where students, faculty, family and friends gathered to watch the students from the Spring 2024 Game Studio showcase their games, discuss their development process and answer audience questions.
