Since the fall of Nazi Germany, historians have uncovered an enormous amount of information and have advanced many explanations for the rise of the Nazi dictatorship and for its hold over German society and development of radical racist and genocidal policies.

It was all smiles at last evening's School of Graduate, Online and Continuing Education Commencement Ceremony. Graduates and their families, and friends gathered at the Fitchburg State University Athletics Recreation Center to receive their advanced degrees. For candidates seeking a masters degree, our Guided Studies - Applied Behavior Analysis concentration provides additional coursework, focused on Autism and Special Education, and culminates in both the required coursework to sit for the BCBA exam and a Masters in Education. 

Aside from “cryptocurrency,” the term “cybersecurity” might just be the biggest buzz phrase right now. But unlike crypto (if you haven’t seen the market plunge, yikes), the need for cybersecurity and the entire industry supporting it, is only going to continue rising. In fact, according to Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, it is the “fastest growing tech sector in the world” and will most likely impact many aspects of our day to day lives as well as the world we live in, from here on out. There probably aren’t many people who haven’t heard of Solar Winds or the Colonial Pipeline hack that occurred recently shutting off much of the country’s gasoline supply, all the while taking a major U.S. corporation to its knees in exchange for a hefty ransom (which was paid). These are not one-off actions and we can only expect to see more and more of them, which is why every industry needs folks who know how to recognize and stop an attack in its tracks.

Applied Communication program, Communication Ethics, challenges students to consider the ethical and legal implications of real-world issues in the field of communication, and will be offered online through the School of Graduate, Online and Continuing Education this summer, 7/12/21 through 8/29/21.

Have you ever thought about the impact of media technologies and media practices on our social values, or how our media habits influence technology? Dr. Kyle Moody’s Social Media Theory course encourages students to explore the relationship between technology and society, among other related issues and theories, which will be offered online through School of Graduate, Online and Continuing Education (SGOCE) during Summer Term A, 5/17/21 through 7/04/21.
