Our Adult Learning in the Fitchburg Area (ALFA) program celebrated it's 20th Anniversary with a celebration in the Falcon Hub. Associate Dean,
School of Graduate, Online, and Continuing Education Dr. Lisa Moison and University President Dr. Richard Lapidus welcomed guests to the event. The celebration included a lunch buffet with the bluesy folk fusion of five-piece band Tattoo, awards and recognitions followed by a mini-sampling of current ALFA courses led by our community instructors. performance by Tattoo There is also a Community Gallery installation at the Fitchburg Art Museum through May 27. ALFA is a lifelong learning institute that serves adult learners in Fitchburg and the surrounding communities.

Fitchburg State University held the winter ceremony of its 127th commencement exercises at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22 in the campus Athletics and Recreation Center, 130 North St.

Paul Luria teaches and eager group pf ukulele enthusiasts for our Adult Learning in the Fitchburg Area (ALFA) program. Paul led the group in some seasonal selections as well as potential choices to play at the upcoming 20th Anniversary ALFA Art Show, May 22, 2024. Graduates and their families, and friends gathered at the Fitchburg State University Athletics Recreation Center to receive their advanced degrees. This morning, Fitchburg State University President Richard Lapidus welcomed those gathered in-person, and virtually, to the first ever School of Graduate, Online and Continuing Education's Graduate Education Celebration. After remarks by Suzanne Ortega, President of the Council of Graduate Schools, who joined remotely, Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Catherine R. Canney presented the inaugural 2022 Graduate Adjunct Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching to Professor Henry Culver. Then a panel of students, Kondwani Moya, and Kamelia Lechani along with Professors Kyle Moody, and Daneen Deptula talked about the graduate program experience.
