Are you a music teacher, or just interested in learning music arranging or improving your music arranging ability? This fall Fitchburg State is offering Musical Arranging (MUSC 8005), a course that explores music arranging through individual composition/arrangement lessons as well as analysis of music compositions.

What are my responsibilities?

As a student, you will work out a semester plan individually with your professor. You'll submit arrangements weekly and will be provided feedback on your work. Your professor will also provide analysis of compositions that all students will then discuss. You'll also do some small music analysis projects of your own, emphasizing musical arrangement, form, and composition.

Who should take this course?

Musical Arranging is for anyone who wants to improve their musical arranging, composing, or songwriting. The course is especially valuable for music teachers, particularly those who frequently arrange music for student groups.
