  1. Try something new

Thinking about taking a fitness class, learning to knit or even returning to school? All of these things can be learned online. Why not try an online or hybrid course? New to the world of online learning? Take our demo course to see if it’s the right fit for you!
  1. Career change/career advancement

Is this the year you decide to chase your dream? Look into the career you’ve always pictured yourself doing such as teaching Elementary Education or Forensic Nursing by taking an introductory course to make sure it’s the right field for you.

Planning to stay in your current field and need professional development by the end of the new year? Take a course this spring or summer to update your resume.
  1. Get organized

Print the application checklist for the program you’re looking to apply to and slowly work at checking off the items on your list. Once you’ve received any of the documents on the list, you may forward them to the Admissions Office for processing. Applications are accepted on a rolling admission basis up to the start of the semester.
  1. Tie up loose ends

Tie up loose ends and get outstanding items on your 2016 calendar before your dates fill up. If graduate testing is something you’ll have to do this year to complete your application to a graduate program visit our Graduate Testing FAQ site for helpful test prep and registration information.

Attention LPN to BSN applicants, new NACE exam dates announced!
  1. Put those transfer credits to use

Do you have transfer credits that are collecting dust? Did you take a break and want to come back to finish your bachelor degree? Let the work you’ve already done work for you by applying to a Continuing Education program. Check out our maximum transfer credit policy to see how many credits may possibly transfer into your program at Fitchburg State University.

Did you know Fitchburg State graduate students may take 12 graduate credits within 1 year prior to admission to a program?
