Are you feeling overwhelmed and not sure where to focus your study time? Try one of the various MTEL Preparation Workshops at Fitchburg State University. This fall (2015), we are offering workshops in the following areas: - General Curriculum - Math Subtest - Early Childhood - Foundations of Reading - Communication and Literacy ![CPS_MTEL](https://blog.fitchburgstate.edu/hubfs/GCE/CPS_MTEL.jpg) Our workshops are conveniently offered in the evenings and on weekends to accommodate life’s busy schedule. **Consider taking an MTEL prep workshop if you are a:** - Non-degree seeking student who: - is enrolled at another institution and would like extra support - wishes to take the MTEL’s prior to enrolling in an initial licensure program - A new Massachusetts resident who needs the MTEL for reciprocity - Current Fitchburg State undergraduate or graduate student seeking initial licensure - Licensed, experienced teacher looking to add additional license  **Top five benefits of taking an MTEL prep workshop at Fitchburg State** 1. **Top- notch Instructors - **Our instructors consist of both current faculty members and seasoned professionals that are truly invested in seeing students succeed. 2. **Helpful and Practical Course Content - **The format of each workshop will be a little different, but all will give you: 3. **Consistency and Accountability** Whether you are a current student, a seasoned teacher, or seeking your initial MA licensure, finding time to study for a test around all of your other commitments can be incredibly difficult. These workshops provide a consistent structure with a reasonable time commitment to prepare each week. A set and scheduled time to study each week can help prevent procrastination. 4. **Comradery and Peer Support** These tests can be stressful and overwhelming; developing a support system with others going through a similar process, can really help to quell anxiety. Fellow classmates make great study partners! Take advantage of getting to know others getting ready to take the MTEL tests. 5. **Cost ** Admitted degree-seeking Fitchburg State students may enroll in these prep workshops free of charge! This is one of the only programs in the state that offers these free to their current matriculated students.
