We all know the frustration of only being able to plan your schedule one semester in advance. It’s difficult figuring out how you will fit your classes into your everyday life when you don't have all the information you need. Well, all of that has changed. Recently Fitchburg State has adopted future scheduling. This means you can now view course schedules up to one full year in advance.
Why would this be beneficial you ask? That’s a good question.
Plan ahead (prepare a timeline for completion)
You can now plan your school scheduling ahead of time and fit your classes into your already hectic life. Plan around work, vacations, sporting events, etc. to make life a little less stressful.
Don’t miss the class you needNow you can look ahead to future semesters to see when the courses you need will be available. Then you can better prepare your timeline for graduation by scheduling a course a semester. This may work better for you so you can take less classes during those hectic months.
Register early, know deadlines and avoid the waitlistKnowing ahead of time which course you are going to take also allows you to register early. Mark the deadlines on your calendar, register early, and avoid being put on the waitlist. You might want to set a reminder in your phone, daily planner or calendar with the 2017/2018 registration dates.
Review all currently available classes on the seats list to see what is being offered. Call the Graduate and Continuing Education Office at 978-665-3182 with any questions.
