International Student Orientation - Spring Semester 2024

Director of International Education Nelly Wadsworth, and Assistant Director of Study Abroad Nicole Salerno welcomed this semester's cohort of International students at their orientation in the Hammond Maine Lounge. Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs Franca Barricelli welcomed students before a day full of information sessions, including a panel of current international students.

MS in Applied Communication Information Session

ALFA - Ukulele: Further Adventures

Paul Luria teaches and eager group pf ukulele enthusiasts for our Adult Learning in the Fitchburg Area (ALFA) program. Paul led the group in some seasonal selections as well as potential choices to play at the upcoming 20th Anniversary ALFA Art Show, May 22, 2024.  ALFA, a lifelong learning institute that serves adult learners in Fitchburg and the surrounding communities.

Career Services and Advising Center - Graduate Education Exploration Fair

This afternoon, the Career Services and Advising Center held an  Exploration Fair in the Hammond Main Lounge.  Fitchburg State University's School of Graduate, Online and Continuing Education (SGOCE) along with local university's graduate school programs, provided this as opportunity for schools to meet the talented students at Fitchburg State University, and connect with potential graduate students. This was an opportunity for our students to learn about graduate school programs, and receive information about the application process.

Center for Professional Studies' Advanced Placement Summer Institutes (APSI) - AP US Government & Politics

Last week, the Fitchburg State University Center for Professional Studies' held week one of their Advanced Placement Summer Institutes (APSI). One of the courses, US Government and Politics, offered for the new and experienced teachers who wanted to learn how to teach the new AP course that recently went into effect.

The Fitchburg State University Center for Professional StudiesAdvanced Placement Summer Institutes (APSI) first week is in full swing. In the AP Biology track, High School Teachers are conducting a week long transpiration experiment. The APSI are designed to support all aspects of AP courses, including AP methodology, curriculum, class assignments and examinations as well as providing strategies for teaching AP courses. Art & Design Educators spent the week long program in a combination of lecture, projects, and discussion to improve their teaching skills.

The Fitchburg State University Center for Professional StudiesAdvanced Placement Summer Institutes (APSI) first week began this morning. The APSI are designed to support all aspects of AP courses, including AP methodology, curriculum, class assignments and examinations as well as providing strategies for teaching AP courses. Each workshop is designed to meet the needs of every participant, while renewing confidence and providing new strategies to bring back to the classroom. In Susan Biggs' AP Chemistry course, those enrolled learn how to integrate experimentation into their AP instruction.

127th Commencement Exercises, Graduate Ceremony

Fitchburg State celebrated its 127th commencement exercises, graduate ceremony, on Thursday, May 18, 2023. The ceremony includes remarks from  Senator John J. Cronin, alum Representative Michael P. Kushmerek, President Richard S. Lapidus as well as a speech by MBA recipient Stephanie Tsacogianis, the Spring 2023 recipient of the Graduate Student Leadership Award.
