Fitchburg State University professors Erin Rehrig and Eric Williams co-instructed a session titled Using Fluorescent Chemical Probes to Visualize Cells during the second day of the New England Association of Chemistry Teachers (NEACT) Summer Conference yesterday afternoon. In this hands-on workshop, participants experimented with different fluorescent probes to understand the chemical properties that make them excellent tools for visualizing the intra- and extra-cellular components of plant and animal cells for biochemical and biomedical research.
