Fitchburg State University held its eighth annual National Collegiate Athlete Honor Society (NCAHS) induction ceremony on Monday, with 36 student-athletes being recognized for their academic achievements.
The National College Athlete Honor Society was founded at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. on May 17, 1996, as a student-athlete honor society for the recognition of high academic achievers and sport letter-winners as the collegiate level.
There are 269 chapters of the NCAHS, Chi Alpha Sigma across the country with Fitchburg State University designated as the Sigma Chapter of the Chi Alpha Sigma.
This year's Fitchburg State inductees were Louis Brigham (men’s soccer), Jeremiah Maki (men’s soccer), Anthony Marcella (men’s soccer), Gene Bouthiette (ice hockey), Zachary Cormier (ice hockey), Luke Eslinger (ice hockey), Jordin Holmes (ice hockey), Adam Kusior (ice hockey), Brian McGrath (ice hockey), Joshua Miller (ice hockey), Wyatt Wilmshurst (ice hockey), Allison Gough (women’s soccer), Courtney Brouillet (women’s cross country/track & field), Erin Maida (women’s cross country), Cameron Davis (men’s cross country/track & field), Nathaniel Felix (men’s cross country/track & field), Trevor Fields (men’s cross country/track & field), Brian O’Sullivan (men’s cross country/track & field), Nicholas Sachetta (men’s cross country/track & field), Benjamin Sacramone (men’s cross country/track & field), Amy Coelho (women’s volleyball), Jillian Laabs (women’s volleyball), Leah Sheehan (women’s volleyball), Colleen Lamprey (field hockey), Lena Spadaford (field hockey), Sarah Cahill (softball), Audrey Johnson (softball), Madison Mantegani (softball), Hayley O’Brien (softball), Zachary Malek (baseball), Anthony Silverio (baseball), Cali Laakso (women’s lacrosse), Julia Miele (women’s lacrosse), Francesca Reyes (women’s lacrosse) & Brooke Williams (women’s lacrosse).
Fitchburg State members of the National Collegiate Athlete Honor Society will be wearing unique cords during the undergraduate graduation ceremony in recognition of their recent induction into the NCAHS.
