# Around Campus - Exercise & Sports Science Lab

Last week, our [Exercise and Sports Science](https://www.fitchburgstate.edu/academics/academic-schools/school-health-and-natural-sciences/exercise-and-sports-science-department) students took "pushing your limits" to a whole new level. They transformed a section of the North St. [Exercise & Sports Science](https://www.fitchburgstate.edu/academics/academic-schools/school-health-and-natural-sciences/exercise-and-sports-science-department) Lab into an 85°F heat chamber to test exactly how physical exertion impacts the body under pressure.
While one team monitored the subject’s vitals in the heat, another analyzed the data in real-time to evaluate the results. It’s real world hands-on science for our future sports pros.
