Summer Institutes for Educators – New Housing Option at Fitchburg State

Posted by Kelly Norris on May 9, 2019 at 2:02 PM

If you are a teacher, you know how important it is to continuously update your skills and add to your knowledge base to be successful in the classroom. Taking summer courses is a great way to do this, and with our one and two-week summer institutes for teachers, it’s easier than ever. And now, for the first time, we are able to offer on-campus housing for students taking these accelerated courses, so you save the time you would have spent commuting, and can easily walk to class each day!

SimondsHallStep One: Make sure we have the kinds of courses you need. You can view our institute courses, and if you find what you need, take the next step!

Step Two: Register for your classes. This generates your student ID, which will give you access to the course and make you eligible for housing.

Step Three: Contact us in GCE and let us know you’re seeking on-campus housing. Please provide the following information in your email:

  • Name
  • Your Fitchburg State ID number
  • Your Fitchburg State Email address (issued upon course registration)
  • Phone/Cell #
  • Course(s) you’re taking

We’ll confirm your registration, and once we are certain the course is running, we’ll forward your information to Housing & Residential Services, who will work out the details for arrival, check-in, and payment. Here’s what the housing package looks like:

  • Cost: $45 per person/per night; optional linen packet $20/week (no taxes);
    total amount due prior to check-in
  • Room: Single bedroom apartment w/kitchen and private bathroom
  • Food: Continental breakfast and lunch available (not included in price)
  • Wifi: Available, included in housing

We hope you can join us for a summer institute this year!
